Description
Letters to My Brother Priests is the definitive and complete collection of Pope St. John Paul II’s Holy Thursday letters to his spiritual sons and fellow priests. At the beginning of the Paschal Triduum each year, the Pope offered an address to Catholic priests inviting them deeper into their commitment to their vocation and deeper into their relationship with the Eucharistic Lord.
Spanning every year of the saint’s pontificate (1979–2005), the fruits of his Holy Thursday tradition are bound in an elegant hardcover volume. Letters to My Brother Priests contains the Holy Father’s wisdom imparted to the clergy not just for living the duties of their state in life but for flourishing as beloved sons of God.
Readers enjoy twenty-six distinct letters from the heart of a saint to heart of the priest. This edition includes a short introduction to each year’s letter that explores the travels, writings, and other activities that occupied the Pope’s time during that year. It also includes a new foreword by Stephen P. White, Executive Director of the Saint John Paul II National Shrine in Washington, D.C.
